Early word on the street is that this season's Barneys Warehouse Sale is not the best in recent memory—limited inventory, recurring merchandise from past sales, not so steep markdowns—but as always, the longer you wait to go, the better the deals get, and I rarely walk out empty handed. A bit shorter than usual, this season's sale ends this weekend, so I'd recommend heading over sooner rather than later. Through 2/26; 10-9 T-Th, 9-9 F, 9-8 S-S; 255 W. 17th St. (7th & 8th Aves.).

The Barneys Warehouse Sale is starting a bit late this year, and instead of running two-plus weeks, it's clocking in at a sleek twelve days, starting Thursday and ending Labor Day. Prices start at 50%-75% off, but no word yet on when additional discounts kick in; I'd advise checking Racked for the most updated information I'll probably head over midweek next week--follow me on Twitter for the latest. The semi-annual Barneys New York Warehouse Sale started last week, and while I was too busy running around to fashion shows to report on it last week anyway, I always advise waiting until the second week to hit it. This is because when the sale first starts, prices aren't marked down any further than in the stores at the end of the season, so why subject yourself to the craziness of the warehouse sale when you can have fitting rooms and non-final sales? But sometime around Thursday of the second week, prices get marked down, and that, if you ask me, is the best time to go (unless you are patient and are skilled at finding needles in haystacks, in which case, go on the very last day, when the markdowns--and crowds--are insanity-inducing).
