Spring trends: pastels

I used to think that I hated pastels—I thought they were too juvenile and girly—and then millennial pink, my gateway drug to pastels, came along. I realized sky blue was pretty great too, and flattering at that. I tried a little mint green, and now even lavender is looking good to me. Long story short, these pale colors are soft, pretty, and great for warmer weather. I'm sorry I judged you so harshly, pastels!

1. Of all the hyper-feminine dresses in the new Gal Meets Glam collection, this one is my favorite—the fabric has a subtle Swiss-dot texture, and I love the bows at the shoulders. The shape is just so classic and flattering too.
Gal Meets Glam Hillary dress $168

2. As I've noted before, I don't like a lot of bells and whistles on my handbags, so I appreciate the minimal quality of this tote. It's actually leather, and thus quite a bargain too!
Mango leather shopper $69.99

3. Polka dots are another pattern that's trending for spring, so why not knock out two trends at once with this fun blouse? Bonus: the piping reminds me of a pajama shirt, which is yet another trend—three for the price of one.
Mango polka-dot blouse $59.99

4. I have this blouse in black, which reminds me I should feature it here at some point—nothing fits better or lasts longer (I've had mine for years). I am tempted to get it in this soft blush color too.
Equipment signature blouse $215

5. This skirt has a two-tone jacquard texture, which makes a tough-sell color (I think I last wore pale yellow when I was a baby) a bit more playful and fresh. This one is also on major sale.
MSGM jacquard skirt $148

6. I'm obsessed—obsessed—with Ganni, because their take on the trends is just so unique and spot-on. I love the block heel and thick straps of these suede mules, which also come in bright cherry red, if pastels aren't your thing.
Ganni suede mules $235

7. This coat is a bit of an investment, but it's the kind of thing you can throw on over anything and it just totally makes your outfit. I love how easy and relaxed the arms are, too.
Joie Damoinca trench $448

8. I can make no guarantees about the quality of this blazer, which is polyester and possibly flammable, but I do like that it has a subtle windowpane plaid pattern to it (and it also comes in pink).
Boohoo Lucie blazer $40

Here's how I wore the trend:

That yellow skirt is the cutest! Also, you can't go wrong with a pastel trench, that's one beautiful classic.
