The best of 2018

Happy New Year! I meant to get this post up yesterday (so it was actually in 2018), but came back from NYC with a cold, so I spent all of New Year's Eve glamorously sipping Throat Coat tea in sweatpants. The best laid plans...anyway, 2018 was an up-and-down year for me on a personal level, but definitely all ups here on Cheryl Shops. I'm so proud of everything Sean and I have accomplished, and all the growth Cheryl Shops has received, both here and on social media. Thank you so much for reading, shopping, and spreading the word. I don't always know exactly what I'm doing and where I'm going, but I'm definitely having fun doing it. And now, onto the highlights...

I started off 2018 with a bang—this get the look post was based on one of my most re-pinned pins, and when I pinned my breakdown of the look, it went viral! A year later, it still drives a ton of traffic to my blog. Thanks, Pinterest!

Most viewed outfit post
I was somewhat surprised to see What to wear with mustard yellow as my most-viewed post of the year, but considering that mustard yellow is the new millennial pink (e.g. a trending color for 2018), it all makes sense. The runner-up was What to wear with a leopard coat, another big trend for the year.

Most commented-on post
With 19 comments, What to wear with a leopard skirt inspired lots of discussion and love. Leopard was a huge trend this year, so makes sense, but if you ask me, it's more of a classic than anything else. If you watch my Instagram stories, you'll know that I actually wear this one quite a bit IRL too.

Ok, I guess you guys weren't so into my Mother's Day gift guide. Maybe I posted it too early? Or maybe you don't like your mom? (Kidding...)

Most engaging Instagram post
My most engaging 'gram was actually from a giveaway that I did (note to self: do another one in 2019), but after that, this post of me and Zuni at Sunday Wine Church garnered 245 likes and 70 comments. Message received—more Zuni on Instagram!

Most re-pinned Pinterest post
Surprisingly, this image from my post on what's in my makeup bag was the most re-pinned from my site. I always like these kinds of posts on other people's blogs, so it makes sense in a way. Expect to see more beauty stories here in 2019!

Most liked Facebook post
With 44 reactions and 13 comments, my post introducing Zuni received the most love on Facebook, probably because the majority of my Facebook followers are friends and family. But, hey, feel free to follow me there too!

Most liked tweet
In my recap post last year, I noted how I needed to focus more on Twitter, and that's still the case, as this tweet about how to dress like a French woman was my most engaged-with tweet of the year, with two likes and two retweets. Maybe 2019 is my year of Twitter growth?

My favorite post
Looking back at the year, I'm amazed at the progress we've made in the photography of these posts, and while there were several milestones, my favorite post of the year was my blogiversary post. The shoot was fun and easy, the outfit was very "me," and everything just came together really well. I can't wait to do this year's blogiversary post!

These are super cute looks dear. Love your outfits, especially the last one. Amazing how a simple denim jacket can complete the ensemble.
