The most popular posts of 2021

As I noted last week, I'm changing things up a bit with my year-end recaps for 2021. I've shared my favorite outfits of 2021, so now it's time for your favorite posts of 2021. I was not super surprised to see that 6 of the 10 posts were from my honest review series—they tend to attract a lot of search traffic, but hopefully they're helpful for my regular readers as well. I have a whole new bunch of reviews planned for 2022, so stay tuned for those! I am going to take next week off to spend some quality time with my family and friends, but I'll be back in January with one last 2021 recap, featuring everything you guys bought this year. In the meantime, here's a look at the top 10 most popular posts of 2021, according to you!

#10 What to wear with a designer hoodie

Fun fact: this is the only post that made both the most popular list and my own personal favorites. I have a feeling it had something to do with the designer hoodie angle, but I'm also hoping it's because you really liked the outfit as much as I did.

#9 Get the look: Jennifer Aniston's beige coat

Get the look is a series of posts I used to do on the regular but decided to pause in favor of more original content (e.g. photos that I shot myself versus collages I created in Canva). That said, they were always very popular, especially on Pinterest. If you think I should start them up again, let me know in the comments!

#8 An honest review of Augustinus Bader the Rich Cream

I liked but did not love this cream; I almost didn't write this review because I feel like there are probably a gazllion out there already, but now seeing that it made this list, I'm glad I did. I have yet to find a holy grail moisturizer, and while I know this is it for many people, my search continues.

#7 A weekend trip to Santa Barbara

I was excited to see a travel post make this list. They are generally not revenue generators for me, but they're a fun way to relive my vacation as I write them. On a personal note, they're also a handy way for me to send recommendations to friends who are traveling, without having to type out a list of favorites every time!

#6 An honest review of Hermès Oasis sandals

Posts like this make me really wish Hermès had affiliate links on their site (gentle reminder that affiliate links, which pay me a small finder's fee whenever you use them to make a purchase, at no additional cost to you, are the #1 source of income for Cheryl Shops and allow me to keep creating content for free). In cases like these, I do it for the love (and, maybe the traffic).

#5 An honest review of Golden Goose Superstar sneakers

Probably the most-worn pair of shoes on this blog, I had so many different photos of me wearing them, I had a hard time choosing which ones to feature. There are probably a lot of reviews of these sneakers on the internet as well, but one more time for the people in the back: they're 100% worth the splurge.

#4 An honest review of all the Spanx pants

I am a Spanx brand ambassador, and yes, that means that they send me a lot of free pants, however I always give my honest opinion of them. This particular post is a side-by-side comparison of all the fits in navy, which I think actually helps you see more of the details (versus pure black).

#3 An honest review of Spanx jeans

This post was published only a couple months ago but it's quickly become one of my top posts of the year, and y'all have been buying a lot of Spanx jeans too. Both the skinny and flare are really comfy and flattering, and call me contrarian, but I've been unexpectedly reaching for the skinny pair a lot more recently!

#2 How to make your home smell like Santal 33 (for less)

This post had the distinction of going somewhat viral on Pinterest, and it has the honor of hosting 2021's top-selling product on Cheryl Shops—you'll have to wait for my final 2021 recap in a couple weeks to see which product it was, exactly, however I think you can pretty much figure it out. I love that you love a good life hack, so I plan to do more in 2022!

#1 An honest review of the Celine phantom cabas tote

This post leaned heavily into how to buy a Celine bag in Paris, which is not terribly complicated and can save you a ton of money, especially if the exchange rate is working in your favor. I still am not carrying this bag as much as I had initially hoped—thanks to Covid, my return-to-the-office date keeps getting pushed back—but I'm hoping that means it will last even longer ;)
