Sephora sale picks & what's in my bag

Now that it's been over six months since I left Sephora, I'm slowly adjusting to normal civilian life where I'm not constantly showered with free products (although I do still receive quite a bit for the blog). I've also found I'm a lot pickier when I actually have to buy something myself—it's amazing what not having a discount will do. That said, Sephora's Spring Savings Event starts today for Rouge, on the 18th for VIBs and Insiders, plus all Sephora Collection is 30% off for the entire event, now through the 24th. If you want to try something new, here are my recent favorites, plus what I'm planning to buy for myself.

Recent favorites, left to right:

If you can get over the DUMB NAME, this is a pretty good tubing mascara that recently won an Allure Best of Beauty award. I'd argue that it lengthens better than it volumizes, but either way, it really stays put. My one quibble is that it irritates the crap out of my eyes when I rinse it off.

I use bar soap religiously (it's WAY better for the environment since it doesn't come in a huge plastic bottle) but was skeptical about bar shampoo and conditioner until I tried Viori. They're very gentle on my super-fine color-treated hair and smell amazing (Hidden Waterfall is my favorite scent). There is a bit of a learning curve with the bars (you have to get them VERY wet), but once you get the hang of it, they leave your hair silky smooth.

This product is not new by any means, but I rediscovered a stash of them in my Sephora swag collection, and Dolce Vita is the perfect my-lips-but-better color. I wear it on days when I'm working from home and don't need to be on camera, and I'm always surprised by how long it lasts, in spite of being such a light color.

What? Exactly. I bought this product last year because every beauty influencer I love was raving about it, and while I use it on the regular, I still can't tell you exactly what it does. It's like a very light creamy bronzer that somehow evens out your skin and makes you look...healthier? IDK but I'm a fan.

I'm already on my second bottle of this stuff, which I go through at an embarrassingly fast pace (I do tend to be heavy-handed when it comes to perfume). It smells like clean, sexy skin, and I love to wear this when I travel. Full disclosure: it has terrible staying power, hence why I keep ripping through it.

I bought this on the recommendation of a former Sephora co-worker who has amazing skin. I also use this when I travel, to help calm down my skin, which almost always gets irritated from too much sun. I will say, I hate the smell (it smells like chlorine), but it thankfully dissipates quickly.

Speaking of things that don't smell great, this serum has a certain eau de dirty sock, but I'm willing to overlook it because it works so well. My skin looks so plump and firm, I just realized that I'm a month overdue for my Botox appointment. Dr. K can wait!

Call me crazy, but I put this on after the Paula's Choice booster (yes, double serums!) and I feel like it locks in the moisture and makes my skin extra bouncy. A must for people (like me) who believe there's no such thing as too much hydration.

This is one of my holy-grail products; I also own it in Brulée, which is more of a bronze color. Nectar is a peachy-pink that's somewhere between a very sheer blush and a glowy gold highlighter. (Because my skin is so pink in undertone, any kind of silvery highlighter looks ghoulish on me.) I literally don't leave home without putting this on.

What's in my shopping bag:

Yes, this is a ridiculous price to pay for a product that's basically an even more expensive Dior Addict Lip Glow (which I love). But that packaging though!

I am having trouble finding a truly great sunscreen (send me your recs!), but word on the street is that this one is really, really good.

My colorist used this stuff on me and my blowout lasted an entire glorious week. Sold!

My hope is that this alarmingly strong product eradicates my gunk-filled pores for at least a week. Wish me luck!

That name is almost as long as the amount of time I've waited for this concealer to come back in stock. It's the closet thing I've found to the old Cle de Peau formulation, with a bonus of being clean.

Anyways, I love Sephora and so jealous you got Paula's Choice for a discount. I love that brand! Next time they do a sale I'm gonna go and get some Rare Beauty products. Have you tried that brand? It's truly amazing!
