Why is it called an eyelash conditioner?
Much like its excellent Revitabrow product (read my honest review here), Revitalash is called a "conditioner "versus a "growth serum" so it's classified as a cosmetic product versus a drug, which would require the whole rigamarole of an FDA approval, as well as a prescription from your doctor. Latisse, for example, is one of the few products that actually can say it makes your eyelashes grow, because it's been clinically proven to do so. Speaking of Latisse, its parent company, Allergan, sued Revitalash because its results were a liiiittle too close to home—in other words, it actually does something—and was likely cutting into its market share without having jumped through the FDA-approval hoops. So for years while the lawsuit played out, Revitalash was not available in the state of California where I live. However, the lawsuit has been settled, the formula has been updated, and now everyone, everywhere can buy Revitalash, still no prescription needed.

My eyelashes are naturally straight and on the longer side, however they've never been as thick as I'd like them to be. I've tried all kinds of volumizing mascaras over the years, most of which tend to get clumpy on me; my ideal effect is that of the aforementioned eyelash extensions, although I am willing to put on mascara every morning to achieve that. In other words, I'd like my lashes to be naturally thicker and fuller.

I used Revitalash every night for two months straight, and in the last month, I've switched to using it every other night. The formula comes in a thin tube with a narrow brush, and it goes on clear without irritating my eyes. In theory, you could apply makeup afterward, but I use it at nighttime before bed, after I wash my face. I have the 3.5 ml tube, which is a six-month supply, and there appears to be plenty left after three moths of use. So, how am I feeling about the results?

My honest review
Hoping an eyelash product of any kind will you the effect of false lashes is an unrealistic expectation. Hoping it will do something is not. I have tried everything from Grande Lash to Latisse, and this was by far the most effective eyelash product I've used. (No wonder Revitalash was sued by Latisse's parent company.) My lashes are noticeably longer, but not so long that they're hitting my eyebrows, which is what happened with Grande Lash. More importantly, my lashes look thicker, shinier, and healthier overall. I think they're breaking and falling out less than they normally do, and I've found that they take mascara more evenly than before. I noticed the effects within about six weeks of using it nightly, and after two months, I tapered down to every other night, as I don't want my lashes to get too long! The only downside is that Revitalash is significantly more expensive than similar products on the market, but, well, you get what you pay for. That said, if you order directly from Revitalash, your first purchase is 20% off, and they occasionally run sitewide sales. TL;DR, does Revitalash actually make your lashes grow? Well, you be the judge.
