I was going to post about this last Thursday, but my Internet was down (thanks, Time Warner!), but luckily now there's even more good masstige news to share.

Last week Target hosted a Zac Posen Go International pop-up shop for slightly over 24 hours at the New Yorker hotel, and I was lucky to attend the press preview. By the time I got there at 8, the racks were already dilapidated; I managed to snag my favorite dress (the one I had blogged about earlier this month) in an XL, which was far too large. However, as is always the case, it's good to make friends with the salesgirls, because it turned out they had a bunch more in the back. So I ended up with my favorite dress, in my size. My only quibble is that it's polyester, but it's pretty nice polyester (is that an oxymoron?), and for $39.99, I suppose I can't complain too much. There's also a cute version of this dress in solid pink, a navy grommeted dress that went quickly, and a safety pin-print dress was extremely popular. The one-piece swimsuits looked pretty good to me too, however I can't wear them (I have a freakishly short torso). The Zac pop-up shop is long gone, but the collection hits stores this Sunday, April 25th.

In the meantime, Target's Cynthia Vincent and Eugenia Kim collaborations are now available on the site--in theory. All that's left of the Cynthia Vincent shoes are the strappy heel and the flat sandals (the wedges are, unfortunately, long gone). It appears that most, if not all, of the Eugenia Kim hats are still available, however.

In super-exciting news, Brooklyn-based designers (whom I saw walking down Clinton Street Sunday afternoon) Costello Tagliapietra are designing a line for Uniqlo! The lumberjack-ish duo are known for their gorgeously draped dresses, and they set out to create a work-friendly collection, which will retail for a very nice $29-$39, so you can buy two or three or everything in the line, which I am contemplating. The dresses hit Uniqlo May 20th. Looks like I'll be, ahem, late to work that day.

Finally, if you can't wait till May (or till this weekend), here's a masstige collection you can shop right now: Richard Chai and Jeremy Scott have teamed up with Alternative Apparel to create knits exclusively for Refinery 29. Prices are a big higher than your usual masstige collaboration, but tops like the one pictured are a luxe modal/silk blend and thus a step above the average. The line will be available only for a month, so shop now or forever hold your peace.

I love Refinery 29's street style posts, and a standout in this one, on the best street shots of 2009, was former Vogue-ette Lauren Santo Domingo wearing the Chloe scalloped shorts that were everywhere last summer. Of course the shorts are long gone from stores, but thankfully their inspiration lives on. I thought I spotted a similar style in the latest Urban Outfitters catalog, but when I went to their website, I found an even better pair: these Kimchi Blue scalloped shorts. My first instinct was to buy the nude, but the black is pretty cute too, and for $24, you can afford one of each. According to a review, they're a bit see-through, but that makes them ideal for wearing now over tights. Because if you're anything like me, you're ready for this cold snap to be over--spring (and its cute clothes) can't come quickly enough.

I interrupt my fall shopping guide to bring you some excellent news: Refinery 29's beyond-awesome Save Fashion is returning for a limited one-week engagement! Last summer's pop-up shop, at Port Authority, featured a rotating cast of super-hot designers like Acne Jeans, Giles & Brother, Rachel Comey, and Rick Owens; the latest installment includes Vena Cava, Steven Alan, Rag & Bone, and Rogan, plus selections from Bird and Urban Outfitters' designer collaborations. Prices start at 50% off retail, with specifics such as Rag & Bone dresses for $55 and Vena Cava tops for $75. The big news is that instead of being at Port Authority, this installment of Save Fashion will be held at the awesome Inven.Tory in Soho. I will be attending the opening-night party tomorrow night, so I will provide a full report when I return (the sale opens to the public at 7 a.m. Friday morning). Save Fashion runs for 10 days only, so don't miss it! 11/13-11/22; 7-9 opening day, 10-9 thereafter, 10-5 closing day; Inven.Tory, 237 Lafayette (Prince & Spring Sts.).

UPDATE: I just got home from the Save Fashion opening night party, which was packed to the rafters with hipsters drinking Amstel Light, but I managed to squeeze around all of the unwashed hair and ironic eyeglasses to case the joint. I saw Slab by Rick Owens jackets for $69 (!), Steven Alan plaid shirts for $58, current-season silk Mara Hoffman maxi dresses for $178, supersoft Rag & Bone tanks for $32 and dresses for $55, and Vena Cava silk separates and dresses for $100-$250 (leather leggings were $325). There's also a lot of Flippa K, Thuy, Bruce II, some Rogan, Kimberly Ovitz, Wren, Sophomore, Sunshine & Shadow, Shelly Steffee, and a selection of designer collaborations from Urban Outfitters, which benefit Charity:Water. For guys, I spotted Gilded Age and more Rogan. Most items are about 50%-60% off retail, and while there aren't any fitting rooms, there are mirrors scattered throughout. It benefits a great cause, and it's definitely worth checking out, plus stock will reportedly be replenished on a daily basis, meaning frequent trips are definitely in order!

Weekend shopping notes
If you've been following my Twitter feed, you know that today I went to Save Fashion, Refinery 29's month-long sample sale at Port Authority. I had been once before, but since the sale was extended an extra two weeks, with additional discounts, I went back for more today...and let's just say good things come to those who wait. There's still a lot of Rogan, Acne Jeans, Cardigan by Lynn Hiriak, Filippa K, Earnest Sewn, and VPL left, among other designers. The racks are kind of a mess, and you'll definitely have to dig, but there are definitely treasures to be unearthed. Case in point: I got a jacket, top, and skirt all by Rick Owens (yes, Rick Owens), for $66. Tomorrow, 6/12 is the last day of the sale, so hurry! It's open 10-8 at 641 8th Ave. (at 41st St.).

If department stores are more your style, it's Friends & Family time at Lord & Taylor. Coupon is at right; you get 25% off everything except for makeup and fragrance, which is 10% off (still a good deal!). You can also use the code FRIENDS online.
