What to wear to the ballet

Last month, I was out with friends who I hadn't seen in awhile and one asked me how blogging was going. I said great and that I love creating Cheryl Shops, so I hope you, dear reader, enjoy perusing it. She then asked me if brands are sending me clothes to wear. My answer was not yet—but if you're a brand and you're reading this and would like to work with me, please check out my Contact page! Anyway, since nearly everything I wear here is something I've bought for myself, I wanted to create an outfit post featuring pieces that I've already worn in other posts. I was so happy with the result, I wore it to the San Francisco Ballet a few weeks ago. Here's how it all came together.

I wore this Vince jacket in December's post about what to wear with a black dress, and since both were Saturday-night outfits, I'd guess you can say this is one of my dressier leather jackets! (Next time, I'll dress it down a little more.) I wanted to stay on the lighter side of neutral for this outfit, and the weather wasn't too chilly at the time, so it was the perfect outer layer for this look.

While I was on vacation last week, Everlane finally opened a store in San Francisco. It looked like it was quite the blockbuster opening, so I'm hoping traffic dies down a bit so I can check it out soon. This sweatshirt (featured in my pleated midi skirt post) is, of course, from Everlane, which is my go-to source for basics. It's almost a bit too cropped for this skirt, but I made it work.

Even though this skirt is light in color, it's definitely meant for warmer weather, as the fabric is a thicker, woven tweedy thing. It's definitely not one I'd wear when it's raining, but it's nice for a clear winter day (or night, in this case). I wore this one way back in September.

My boots were last featured in January—clearly I like pairing them with lighter colors, so next time I'll try them with black or even with jeans or leggings, as I've seen a lot of other bloggers do. San Francisco is back to having a bit of a cold snap, so I foresee myself wearing these for a few more weeks (or even months) at least.

This Rachel Zoe bag from my Box of Style was also seen fairly recently, in this post, and clearly I like wearing it with lighter, neutral colors. It's great for a night out, too, because it holds just the essentials, and it made me feel like a fancy lady at the ballet.

I wear this Stella & Dot necklace duo quite a bit, so you've probably seen it in several posts (like here and here with my leopard coat), and the bracelets and rings show up a lot here too. I'll link them all below! I'm definitely on a delicate jewelry kick at the moment, for day and night. The more, the merrier!
