Get the look: camel coat and snakeskin boots

I featured a camel coat in one of my outfit posts a few weeks ago, and I've been thinking of so many more ways to wear it. Pinterest seems to be reading my mind—or maybe we're all just on the same page—because this pin featuring one of my favorite bloggers, Aimee Song from Song of Style, has been getting repinned left and right from my Outfit ideas for ageless style board. It's such a classic-with-a-twist kind of look, and I'm obsessed. I'm fairly certain everything Aimee is wearing is on the higher end, so let's re-create it for (a lot) less.

My eyes went straight to the boots, which are pointy and (probably real) snakeskin. I like how they're on the chunkier side—it makes them look edgier. Steve Madden has all manner of snake-print boots, but at $129, the Jillian boot gets the job done with a not-unreasonable heel.

The next-most important part is the camel coat; if you feel like a splurge, this Acne Studios Carise coat is a dead ringer for what she's wearing (it was also featured in my holiday dream gifts), but this slightly shorter camel belted coat is a bit more palatable, at a mere $50.

Bloggers have been all about oversized scarves lately, and what's interesting to me about this look is that the coat and the scarf are almost the same shade. It's breaking the rules in a way, and I'm here for it. I like this oversized wool scarf from And Other Stories—it gets the point across without being too huge.

What makes everything pop is the fact that she's wearing basic black underneath. You probably already have a black sweater in your wardrobe, but if not, you can't go wrong with something from Everlane, like their famous $100 cashmere crewneck.

I've also been eyeing Everlane's high-rise cigarette jeans—the faded black wash will only get better with time, and they look very close to what Aimee is wearing here.

I've REALLY been wanting a camel coat, I just haven't found one at the right price point yet. They can be pricey! I love these and that camel scarf. Snakeskin is still a print I haven't tried, but I would! :)
