5 inspiring over 40 fashion bloggers

When I decided to start blogging again after a three-year hiatus, I did so because I wanted to explore what to wear when you're over 40. I was kind of nervous about it, because blogging (or "influencing," which is a term I hate) is a young person's game—or so I thought. It turns out, there are a ton of amazing over-40 bloggers out there, and not only are they super stylish, they're also warm, welcoming, and incredibly supportive. In the year and a half that I've been blogging again, I've made a bunch of connections, and even though we've never met in person, I'm happy to call these ladies my friends. So in the spirit of Galentine's Day, here are five inspiring over-40 fashion bloggers that you should follow.

I first found The Evolista on Instagram—her feed is beautifully shot—but her blog is even more engaging. Jenifer has already traveled to 32 countries, but she's trying to hit 50 more while in her 50s; she was most recently in Cuba (pictured below). I kind of want her life. Follow her and be prepared for some major wanderlust.

If you're looking for a woman who loves leopard print, shoes, and dogs more than I do, that woman might be Cherie of Style Nudge. Her outfits often incorporate incredible vintage finds, and she always just looks so cool—never kooky. Cherie recently announced that she's launching a line of vintage-inspired animal-print handbags, and you can bet I'm going to get my hands on one as soon as I can.

Catherine started her #iwillwearwhatilike linkup in response to a British journalist's list of things women over 30 should never wear, and her blog, Not Dressed as Lamb, is a delightful exploration of rule-breaking and norm-questioning. She puts colors, patterns, layers, and textures together in totally unexpected ways, but my favorite thing about Catherine is that she is so honest and frank and just does not give an eff in the best possible way.

The motto for Mama in Heels is "living healthy and fabulous without breaking the bank," and that pretty much describes Janise in a nutshell. She's married to a handsome Italian man, she has two adorable twin boys, and I want pretty much everything she wears—most of which is (surprisingly) affordable.

Last but not least, Grace from Color and Grace has a pretty amazing story: she grew up in poverty in remote China, moved to Shanghai, fell in love with an American, moved to the USA...and after 10 years of marriage, became a widow after her husband died of cancer. Grace is incredibly open and raw about her loss, and yet she's one of the most warm, encouraging bloggers I've met. She has such a huge following on Instagram that she's now a coach and mentor to up-and-coming influencers. The only thing bigger than her heart may just be her amazing collection of outerwear.

Please share the love on Galentine's Day and give these incredible, inspiring ladies a well-deserved follow!

I am so honored Cheryl that you featured me, thank you so much! It's always so nice to know that another style blogger, especially one with such great style, that's you Cheryl, appreciates and loves your style. And, to be included among the other 4 bloggers is incredible. I am familiar with all of them except the Evolista, whom I just followed on instagram. Thank you for posting about her. I wish you a very happy Galentine's Day and I always look forward to your instagram posts and Shoe and Tell link ups.

XOXO,
cherie

Thank you so much for the feature, my friend (yes, we never met in person but I feel like we know each other so well virtually that we can call each other friends :=).

This is such a sweet post and I know every single lady on here that I frequently engage with. We need more women over 40 to participate in this sphere because I feel like we are the middle child that the industry ignores, yet we have the most disposable income to spend on products.

Have a great weekend!

Janise
