My birthday wish list

Last weekend when I was talking to my mom, she asked what I wanted for my birthday, which made me realize yikes, my birthday is next weekend! And also, I hadn't thought at all about what I wanted. I usually do my taxes right before my birthday, then treat myself to a nice pair of shoes with my refund, but I haven't done mine yet (full disclosure: without getting into politics, I'm apprehensive about what my refund is going to look like this year after the new tax caps, because I live in California, a state with very high income and property taxes). Long story short, it got me thinking about what I want for my birthday, and while there's nothing I truly need this year, there are a few things I have my eye on. Some are within reach, some are not. But, hey, a girl can dream! Conveniently, they all would work together as an outfit. Here's what's on my birthday wish list this year.

I've been looking for a snakeskin-print dress for awhile but haven't found The One—until I saw this Wayf dress on a fellow blogger's Instagram. At $118, it won't break the bank, although I'm a little apprehensive about the polyester fabric. Still, I love the soft colors, the shape, and the fact that it's lined.

This next gift falls into the not-so-affordable category, but this is a wish list, not an I'm-definitely-going-to-buy-this list. I've always wanted a Cartier Love bracelet for many reasons, one of them being that I'm lazy and the fact that you can never take it off (except with the screwdriver) seems rather appealing.

White boots don't appear to be going away anytime soon, and while I've been resistant to those of the ankle variety, I may be coming around to knee-high white boots. The price is right on these Sam Edelman Hutton boots—they're on sale for $135—and while they look gray in the photo, they are, in fact, white leather. And, hey, if my tax return is smaller than expected, I can at least afford these.
Back to things that put the wish in wish list, I am generally not a big fan of It Bags, but since my name is Cheryl and this Chloe C bag happens to have a big fat C on it, I kind of really want one.

These over-the-knee boots look great. White boots and booties are a thing right now. Thus, they are a great find. Thanks for sharing these ideas at the Top of the World Style linkup party

I am a handbag fan! Love that Chloe bag and way worth it because it has the first letter of your name.
