What to buy during the Sephora sale

Probably every blogger you follow has been talking about the Sephora Spring Savings Event recently, and for good reason—Sephora rarely offers blanket discounts. And while everyone has their favorite products to recommend, I'd like to think that mine come from a specific point of view. I rarely talk about my day job here on the blog, but for those of you who don't know me personally, I work at Sephora's corporate offices as an editorial creative director. Yes, it's pretty much a dream job, I love it, and I know I'm lucky to have it. As part of my job, I'm exposed to a lot of products, so I have pretty strong opinions on what works and what doesn't. In other words, I'm pulling rank here! So if you're in a place to be spending money right now, here's what I recommend. Don't forget to use code SPRINGSAVE through 4/29.

Skincare

I am generally not a fan of physical exfoliation as it tends to irritate my skin, but I am amazed at how smooth and bright this one makes me. Totally worth the hype (and the price).
Goop Glow Instant Exfoliator $125

I am firmly in the yes-you-need-an-eye-cream camp, and this one has replaced Kiehl's avocado as my all-time favorite.
Biossance Squalane + Marine Algae eye cream $54

My skin is ridiculously dry, so I'm very particular about moisturizers. This one keeps me soft and hydrated all day (and BTW, it doesn't smell like bananas at all).
Glow Recipe Banana Soufflé cream $39

Please tell me you wear SPF every day. If not, buy this one, or any of Supergoop's—they're the best.
Supergoop Everyday sunscreen $22–$58

I don't wash my face with soap and water—I have eczema and water totally dries me out—but I do love a good micellar water to remove makeup.
Caudalie Micellar Cleansing Water $28

Unless you have super-sensitive skin, you should be using a retinol at night. It's the most effective way to preserve your skin's youthful appearance. I love that the oil is nice and moisturizing too.
Sunday Riley Luna Retinol Sleeping Night Oil $55–$105

This is one of my all-time favorite products, so much so that I gave it to all my girlfriends for Christmas last year. An absolute must for dry lips.
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask $20

Once a week, I treat myself to a good AHA/BHA peel. Nothing beats the glow I get from this one, and it doesn't irritate my skin at all.
Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial $80

Makeup

I am on my third pot of this concealer. It's buildable and creamy without getting cakey. Holy grail (and it's clean).
RMS Un Cover-Up $36

Whoever named this "Veil" was spot on—it blurs pores and lines, absorbs oil, and gives skin an ethereal finish.
Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder $20–$46

I basically use this palette on my eyelids and cheekbones—it's all the color I need—and no one makes a better range of highlighters.
RMS Living Luminizer Quad $25

I have tried nearly every mascara out there and I keep going back to this one. It delivers MAJOR volume without weird flakes.
Tarte Gifted Amazonian Clay Mascara $23

I own about 30 lipsticks and 20 of them are in a very similar shade, however this one is my favorite. It's incredibly richly pigmented for a clean brand, and the color often lasts past lunch.
Kosas Weightless Lipstick in Undone $28

Hair

My hair is very thin, very fine, and very color treated. This makes me look like I have more of it, without drying it out.
Christophe Robin Volume Shampoo Paste $19–$53

I pair it with this conditioner, which is thick enough to be moisturizing but light enough to not make my ends greasy.
Christophe Robin Hydrating Melting Mask $37

Ouai's products all smell amazing; I use this before blow-drying, and it makes my hair soft and shiny but not at all frizzy.
Ouai Leave-In Conditioner $12-$26

I'm also a fan of their hairspray, which holds without stickiness. This goes on my bangs after blow-drying.
Ouai Texturizing Hair Spray $12–$26

And, hey, if you haven't bought a Dyson hair dryer yet, now's a good time. Here's my honest review, but long story short, it's worth it.
Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer $399

I've been using more dry shampoo than ever, and my go-to is this powdered version, which I find to be more effective than aerosols.
Briogeo Scalp Revival Dry Shampoo $24

Full disclosure: I either received most of these products for free or at a very steep discount, however I would gladly pay full price for all of them.
