Maybe we're a little tardy for the party (though in this case we'd like to consider it fashionably late, of course), but now that the weather is warming up, it finally seems appropriate to celebrate Loeffler Randall's capsule collection, Heart LR, which first launched back in February. The Valentine's Day 'birth' of Loeffler Randall and Sven Clogs' lovechild hardly went unnoticed in the middle of winter, but now we really can't get our hands on the spring-festive offerings! Designed as a slip-on-and-go extension of Loeffler Randall's Spring/Summer 2012 Collection, these fun-and-funky sandals serve up a a healthy dose of clunky soles, stripy laces, and goes-with-everything neutrals with the occasional pop of neon yellow and metallics. Described as what the typical Loeffler Randall gal would wear on the weekend when she wants to be breezy yet stylish, these clog sandals are the perfect spring and summer fare for all our vacationing wardrobe needs! And we can't lie – the downsized price tag doesn't hurt, either!

Back in my personal wish-list entry in my holiday gift guide, I featured Loeffler Randall's crushed blue velvet Natane lace-up stilettos, noting that I was watching them like a hawk in case they went on sale. Saks.com marked them down the day after Christmas, but, alas, by the time I got to them, only size 10 was left (and those are long gone now). After I finished mending my broken heart, I came across the next best thing. They might not be blue velvet, but the metallic lizard version is the silver, er, gold lining in the cloud. They are still available on Loeffler Randall's website and, even better, are on sale, although still on the pricey side, at $313. Still, have you seen a pair of shoes that so deftly toe the line between glamorous and edgy? And in spite of the 105mm heel (about 4 inches), I'll bet that, like every other pair of Loeffler Randall shoes I own, they're quite comfortable. While I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for another markdown, if these babies are still around by my birthday, I think I might have found my present to myself.

Remember Tuesday when I said I wasn't excited about fall yet? All it took was one email from Saks Fifth Avenue, featuring these gorgeous, gorgeous cutout booties from Loeffler Randall to start visions of sweater dresses and black opaque tights dancing in my head. Now, last year I was a little on the fence about booties; my compromise was high-heeled oxfords. But this year, I am totally ready to rock the ankle boots with skirts. I think the reason these booties appeal to me so is the cutout--showing a bit of instep is sexier than wearing a regular old boot, and it almost gives them the look of a pump with some sort of footless tight or sock, rather than a straight-up bootie. I am in love. At $575, I'm going to have to save up my SaksFirst gift cards for them, but I have a feeling it will be worth it. They will be mine--oh, yes--they will be mine.

While I was on my much-needed blogging break, the Loeffler Randall capsule collection hit Target's shelves (and their website). The stuff is pretty cute--chances are you've seen this woven bag everywhere, but I like the tote the best. The ballet flats aren't bad either. However, as awesome as the designs are, there's one problem, which I fretted about back in November: Everything is made of polyurethane and thus looks a bit cheap. There's also the problem of seeing every other girl on the street carrying the same bag, which is what I ran into with my Devi Kroell hobo.

My recommendation is to hit the sale section at, say, shopbop.com instead and score some real Loeffler Randall on markdown (like the Isadora pumps, pictured at left). True, you will pay up to ten times Target's prices, but it will be for actual leather, which will last a lot longer. And there's something to be said for not having sweaty feet.

I don't know about you, but I had an exceptionally bad day today. However, the one beacon of shining light was The Daily's news that CFDA-winner Loeffler Randall will be Target's next designer accessories collaboration. The line will hit stores in early 2008; lucky fashion editors get a preview tomorrow. Even without seeing it, I can almost guarantee you that I will buy every single piece, as I totally adore Loeffler Randall. I will, however, post pictures as soon as they're available.


In other Masstige news, No Good For Me has the first images of Roberto Cavalli for H&M and, well, let's just say everything looks very Cavalli-esque. Again, that collection hits stores in November. Rawr.


UPDATE: Carol Han at Elle's Market Girl blog has published pictures of the Loeffler Randall collection. They look a bit shiny in the photographs but are apparently stunning in person. This bag makes my mouth water either way.
