I've been on both a Marie Kondo-ing tear and a subsequent spring shopping spree lately, and both felt good. The Kon-Mari has cleared out a lot of space in my closet and also made me more conscious of what I'm buying. I am only shopping for things that spark joy, and I am thinking long and hard about whether I'm going to wear something for just a few months or if it's going to be a long-term addition to my closet. Of course, sometimes the best intentions don't always pan out, and it's hard to predict the future, but this pale pink linen blazer is certainly sparking joy for me, and I have a feeling it's going to stick around for awhile. I've already worn it multiple ways, but here's a wear-now, wear-anytime kind of look—and one of my favorites right now.




I am a blazer girl. I think they instantly make whatever you're wearing look polished and pulled together. And while I have a bunch of heavier wool styles, I realized I was missing more summery options. I filled that void with the beige linen jacket I wore a few weeks ago and now with this pale pink blazer, also in linen. I will say, I am completely impressed with Topshop—this blazer is under $100 but feels way more expensive. It's also machine washable, which is pretty much necessary for jackets that you're going to wear in warmer weather (and potentially sweat in). It's lined, too, which gives it a nice shape and weight. I'm wearing a size 8—I almost always size up at Topshop—but probably could have gone with my usual size 6. Still, there's plenty of room for layering, and I'm ok with that.



Full disclosure, the inspiration for this outfit came from this get the look post from last April. The striped tee adds a nice bit of graphic contrast to the soft, pale pink of the blazer and the lighter denim. My tee was quite an investment (you last saw it way back here), but I've never owned anything so light and soft that magically does not pill or get holes.



A blogger friend recently posted about this as well, but as part of my Kon-Mari-ing, I got rid of all my low-rise jeans (ok, except for my nearly perfect white jeans). Why did we wear them for so long, and how did we think they were flattering in the first place? Mid- and high-rise jeans create such a nice, longer line, and have the added benefit of holding you in, if you need holding (and I certainly do). This high-rise, straight-leg pair by Frame (last seen with a fur vest) is one of my favorite pairs at the moment; the are somehow incredibly soft yet hold their shape so well. They run true to size; I'm in a 28 here.



It had been awhile since I'd bought a new bag, and after obsessing about it for several months, I finally pulled the trigger on the Bissett bucket bag from Staud. I don't like a lot of bells and whistles on my bags, so the clean, minimalist shape and lack of adornments on this one really appealed to me. I also have so many black bags, so thought I'd be adventurous and try a lighter color for spring and summer. (If you have any tips on how not to turn this one into a streaky mess, I'd love to hear them!) The size is not super practical for everyday wear—it's definitely more of a weekend bag—but I love the two strap options (the crossbody is detachable), and it holds a lot more than you'd think. It's a small splurge, but a manageable one, and it definitely sparks joy.



After I bravely committed to white boots, I also decided to dip my toes (pun intended) into white heels. These two-tone Topshop heels have a cool heel with the benefit of being a slingback, which is also a spring trend. For being so pointy, they are actually quite comfy—there's a little extra room at the toe, and the heel is reasonable. They definitely have an 80s vibe, but I felt like they complemented my new bag quite well. And, again, they just spark joy, as everything in your closet should.
