Website of the week
In true Cheryl Shops fashion, I'm starting out the new year with a shoe website, and with a nod to my hometown of Chicago. While searching for a pair of round-toe wedges I saw Lindsay Lohan wearing in Us Weekly (okay, you can all laugh at me now), I came across Josephine Online, the Internet home of swanky Chicago shoe boutique Josephine. Now, I often complain about the fashion selection in the Windy City being way too conservative (and, for the most part, it is), but Josephine is like an oasis of high fashion footwear. (And bags.) You can shop by style or by designer; designers include well-known favorites like Christian Louboutin, Sigerson Morrison and Alexandra Neel, as well as new (to me) designers Rickard Shah, Brian Atwood, and Chisenefrega. Some favorites: This Hollywould pewter ballet flat looks so comfy; this Brian Atwood lace pump is undoubtably sexy; I am drooling over this Christian Louboutin green pump; and this Strenesse D'orsay pump is sexy but comfortable enough for everyday wear. The best part? There are sale shoes dispersed throughout--for up to 60% off (I have my eye on this Michel Perry pump and this Stella McCartney sandal). As an added bonus, the owners are super-nice; you can read about them here. Chicago girls crazy about shoes? Sounds familiar...
