The week in shopping
Hopefully sometime this week I'll be checking out the Language Closing Sale. If you want to check it out first, they have both fall and new spring merchandise by Chloe, Stella McCartney, Pucci, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Paper Denim & Cloth, and more, at up to 90% off. Through 3/12; 11-7, 11-8 Thurs., noon-6 Sun.; 238 Mulberry St. (Prince and Spring Sts.).

While you're in the neighborhood, check out the Nahbee sample sale, with their designer shoes by L'Autre Chose, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Giuseppe Zanotti, and others, priced from $29-$199 (boots start at $100). 262 Mott St.

Loaded? Check out the ABC Carpet & Home rug liquidation sale. Their luxurious rugs are up to 75% off, but be forewarned that most regular prices are in the four-figure range. Through 3/14; 10-8, 10-7 Sat., 11-6:30 Sun.; 888 Broadway (at 19th St.), 6th floor.

Starting today, it's the Italian Event at Loehmann's, featuring clothes, shoes, bags, accessories, and more from such designers as Chloe, Helmut Lang, Narcisco Rodriguez, Gaultier, Dolce & Gabbana, and more. Strangely enough, not all of those designers are, in fact, Italian, but with prices up to 80% off retail, I don't think we should argue too much.

Clothingline has brought back Plenty, Joie, Vince, and others to popular demand. Tocca dresses are $55, Joie silks are $20, and Vince cashmeres are $50 and up. Not bad. Through 3/5; 10-6; 261 W. 36th (7th and 8th), 2nd fl.

West Elm's sale items are up to 40% off.

Gabay's has shoes by Chanel, Manolo Blahnik, Gucci, Prada, YSL, Christian Louboutin, Tod's, Michel Perry, Robert Clergerie, and Marni for 60% off retail. Whew! 225 1st Ave. (13th and 14th Sts.).
