Davidelfin Spring 2010

Where & When: Thursday, September 10th at 11 a.m., the Promenade, Bryant Park
Runway Recap: It's business time! Although interlaced with some more casual drapey numbers, this Davidelfin collection felt like filling out a timesheet at a seriously cool corporation. Ties, blazers, and weekenders throughout, littered with shocking distractions such as missing blazer sleeves, tattoos, and blindingly orange hair. The palette had predominantly dark neutrals and pastel greens. The ladies sported boxy long blazers and cardigans while the men were dressed in more form-fitting garb, occasionally saran-wrapped in tube tops.

Standout Look: A toga draped over dress shirt and tie. Business + casual.
Bonus Points: The most prominent model was a female doppelganger of David Bowie, triggering flashbacks to his genderless alien form in Nicholas Roeg's The Man Who Fell To Earth. Gorgeous sparkly blue shoes caught my eye again and again, and the eerily cool soundtrack that was an inventive pairing for this particular line. It should also be noted that Grammy-nominated singer Amerie graced this show with her lovely presence.
